I might have a “thing” with photographing Bassists
February 27, 2009
Brent was fun to shoot, he moves a lot, doesn’t pull facials and doesn’t ham at all. If you catch him it is a victory, cause he really is just into the music and playing balls to the wall. Hams are easy to get good pictures of, it is like Brent didn’t want his picture taken.
The Dead City Rejects have since disbanded, which sucks they were one of my favorite local bands. There is another local band that I really like, despite the fact that my camera has broke at every show I have been to of theirs and the fact that they cover at least one GG Allin song, Bloody Knuckles Crew. I’ll talk mad happy shit about both bands soon. I promise

The Sleeping’s New Album!
February 19, 2009I’m so excited to review The Sleeping’s new album. It came out yesterday, and from what I’ve heard it is amazing. YAY!!!
Oh, wait, thats right. I live in Kentucky and after going to seven stores that sell music, I’m left with the impression that it is not available here. I did not pre-order the CD, because I like to support local record stores. I failed this time. I want the newish Bayside album as well. It should be at the local record store shortly. So, the man said. It came out months ago.
This is my fault, I forget that these are NY local bands, with rabid fans who pre-order if they don’t live in NY. They are all over the East Coast, cause they are local. Just like I can easily get all the KY local bands here. I should have thought. I’m mad at myself.
I could get it off itunes, but I really like to have the physical CD. I like to look at the artwork, I like to read the liner notes. I like to not have to rebuy the album every time my computer crashes because I am never think about backing things up to my x-drive in a timely manner. Also, I still believe that the compression of the files ruins the sound quality. I’m just saying. Sometimes, I like to do this novel thing where I put the CD into my giant CD player and listen to it really loudly. Some would claim I like blast music. Digital files lack a certain color of sound. Honestly. if I had the space I’d buy everything on vinyl like a real snob. Because, I am a snob like that.
If anyone has the new album, tell me what you think
